Police staff pay and allowances have previously been calculated based on the working day starting at midnight, but that’s all about to change.
From Friday 1 November pay and shift allowances for police staff will be calculated from 7am – 6.59am instead of the current midnight to 11.59pm.
This will bring all the workforce in line with police officers whose working day is calculated from 7am. It will also reflect the revised Police Staff Handbook rules around overtime.
