It has been 12 years since the threat of privatisation in West Midlands Police was announced and members were clear they did not want this to happen. Unite the Union were pivotal in stopping this happening with the help of the public by starting a large campaign which saw members of staff and the public outside Lloyd House to demonstrate their concerns. Bob Jones the incoming PCC stopped this in it’s tracks when he was elected.
